Making Ripples

Posted Feburary 19, 2008 by Ian

Wow! Thanks for the amazing response so far to the site. Many thanks to Mashable, downloadsquad, techmeme, TechCrunch, and numerous other blogs who linked our launch. We are working on rolling out quick fixes to the bugs you guys have sent in. We'll be touching up the comments and the news very soon.

We are also working on some neat new features (that didn't make the launch) that will make viewing news and commenting on stories even better. Expect to see new features in an upcoming point release.

Are you having problems activating your account? If so, try this quick utility, which will re-send your activation email. If that still doesn't work, contact us and we'll activate you manually. We are examining the issue closely and hope to have a fix soon.

Once again, thanks! We're working our hardest to make Newspond the best news site on the planet. Cheers!

Introducing Newspond

Posted Feburary 18, 2008 by Chan

Welcome to Newspond, the ultimate news site! Newspond uses an AI brain to discover and sort news as it surfaces all across the internet. And unlike other news aggregators, it doesn't just relate news stories. It reasons, using every possible piece of data about what people are doing with a story. How strong is the discussion surrounding the story? How many people are reading it? What kind of sites are reporting it? Newspond looks at it all and assigns a Buoyancy Rating, a measure of the precise upward force the internet is exerting on a story. Click here to learn more.
